Arnold D. Brown, CPA, CVA, FCPA
As managing principal of Brown CPA Group, Ltd., Arnold Brown is personally involved in serving each and every Brown CPA Group, Ltd., client.
Arnie brings nearly 30 years of experience in tax, business and individual planning, finance, estate planning and audit to his clients. Among his many professional affiliations, he maintains memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

David C. Thibault, CPA, CMA, MST
Dave Thibault has served Brown CPA Group, Ltd., clients since 1994. Dave earned his Masters of Science in Taxation (MST) from Northern Illinois University; he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the Institute of Management Accountants.

Steven R. Friedman, ASA, PE
Steven Friedman brings extensive experience in the valuation of business enterprises, capital stock, partnership interests, debt and other financial and intangible assets. Since 1981, he has served more than 805 clients on over 1231 engagements ranging from negligible value to over $1 billion. Steve is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers with a designation in business valuation.

David P. Leonhardt, CPA, CM&AA
With more than 16 years of experience, David Leonhardt provides tax consulting services, including compliance, planning and research, as well as a wide range of accounting services, including software implementation and write-up, for clients in the retail, real estate and services industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors and the Illinois CPA Society.

John L. Savela, CPA, MBA, FCPA
With nearly three decades as a practicing CPA, John Savela brings diverse experience with clients in the real estate (residential and commercial properties), manufacturing, construction, retail and professional services industries. His expertise includes forensic accounting, litigation support and due diligence services. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society, and is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. John is a certified Forensic Accounting Analyst.

Amber Larsen, CPA, MST
Amber’s background includes senior-level positions with various midsize Chicago-area accounting firms as well as work with one of the “Big 4”. She earned her bachelor’s in accounting in 1999 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Masters of Taxation in 2010 at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. She was granted a Certified Public Accountant certification by the state of Illinois in 2002. Among her professional affiliations, Amber maintains memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society and is an active networker with National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Professional Women’s Club of Chicago (PWCC) and BNI International.

Kyle Konczyk, Certified ProAdvisor 
Kyle has been providing with Brown CPA Group clients with tax and accounting services since 2006 and he specializes in financial statement, audit, review and compilation engagements. He is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and holds a BA in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kyle maintains affiliations with the Illinois CPA Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Alex Heaney
Alex Heaney joined the firm in 2010 and he provides individual and business tax planning and preparation services to Brown CPA Group clients. His areas of specialty are business and individual tax compliance, planning, preparation and consulting. He is also proficient in numerous accounting software packages including the Intuit family of products. Alex holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from Purdue University.

Marie Sinnema, CPA
Marie Sinnema joined Brown CPA Group, Ltd. in 2010 and she provides tax preparation and planning services to business and individual clients. She is also proficient in numerous accounting software packages such as QuickBooks. Marie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from East China University of Science and Technology at Shanghai, China and obtained her Master’s Degree in Accountancy and Information Systems from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She became a CPA in 2010 and is a member of Illinois CPA Society.
