Mobile Phone Applications to accept credit card payments from a client’s site or a tradeshow – without having to go into the office!

There are many applications for mobile phone that let you accept credit card payments using just your smart phone.   This article will review some of the top applications using a mobile phone to collect revenue and transfer money to and from your bank account right from the palm of your hand.  We will discuss several free or low cost mobile applications to allow the owner and field technicians to accept credit card payments from your smart phone – without having to go into the office!

The newest development in Mobile Credit Card Payment Applications is the requirement to use EMV Cards.  EMV cards contain a chip which eliminate the need to swipe the card.  The credit card industry is moving from a magnetic strip swiped through a card reader and a signature, to a sensor which recognizes the chip and a PIN code in place of the signature.

Starting in October 2015, legislation was passed which shifts the responsibility to the merchant for Credit Card Fraud if they do not use EMV-enabled point-of-sale (POS) Credit Card Readers.

PayPal Here –  www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/credit-card-reader.  This free application allows you to accept credit card payments into your PayPal Account with immediate access.  The customer automatically receives a receipt from PayPal.  Users can access funds directly from their PayPal account, or transfer funds to their bank account, or use funds using a PayPal Debit Master Card for cash advances and payments at retailers.

Square Reader – squareup.com/reader This free application allows you to accept credit card payments from your mobile phone. It has an invoicing application and automatically e-mails customer receipts.

PayAnywhere – www.payanywhere.com This free application allows you to accept credit card payments with your cell phone.  PayAnywhere sends receipts, but not automatically. The strong point of PayAnywhere is the inventory Application. The PayAnywhere inventory application provides for a database of invoice items and product Images for customers to choose from.

GoPayment – payments.intuit.com/mobile-credit-card-processing/  this free application allows you to accept credit card payments with your cell phone with its biggest strongpoint being it syncs with QuickBooks On-line and Intuit Point of Sale (POS) products.  The link with Intuit products makes bookkeeping easier.

Amazon Local Register – localregister.amazon.com this free application allows you to accept credit card payments with your cell phone with its biggest strongpoint being it includes a business website and a on-line catalog setup feature to assist in sales.

Spark Pay – www.sparkpay.com this free application from Chase Bank allows you to accept credit card payments with your cell phone. A nice feature is you can go with the free set up for one transaction fee plan or pay 9.95 per month for a lower priced transaction fee plan.

In conclusion, there are many Credit Card Payment Applications for mobile devices that let you receive payment using your Smart Phone.  I’ve highlighted some the strengths of each application to help you choose the Credit Card Processing Application which best fits your business.

We just discussed several free or low cost mobile applications so owners and field technicians accept credit card payments from a smart phone at a client’s site or a tradeshow – without having to go into the office!
